I just purchased a 30 month supply of Arthro-IonX for my aged horse. I have had her on Absorbine Flex Max supplement for the past 2 years, would it be ok to discontinue that and just use Arthro-IonX? Due to finances the cost of both supplements is hard for me to swing right now. I know it varies on the animal as to how long it will take to see results but would you say if after a month, I see no difference it probably won't work.   Also, I know this is a hard question to answer but how can you tell if your horse is actually in pain? She is obviously stiff and doesn't move like she used to but she still seems happy, has a good appetite and moves around pretty well. I don't feel heat in her joints (knees) but they are obviously enlarged. Anyway, I am anxious to see how the product works! Thank you for your time. -Kathy-

Dear Kathy,

I would use a little of each product. To start I would use the full amount of Arthro-IonX for the first month and then you can decide if you can decrease either. I would allow 3 months to evaluate Arthro-IonX's impact. I would also try veterinary chiropractic to aid better alignment. If stress is taken off a joint, healing and decreasing inflammation can happen that much quicker.
