I've read the directions for giving Arthro-IonX to my dog, which said to either give it to her straight in her mouth, or put it in her (non chlorinated, filtered) water. Ok, I've been putting it in her food, but I also put a bit of water in it, otherwise she chokes while shes eating. My question is, is it ok to do this? Do I also have to give her non-chlorinated water to drink through out the day, or can she drink regular water? Do I have to watch her so she doesn't drink 1/2 hour before taking the stuff? Also can I put it on a piece of bread and give it to her like that? THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!

Dear Marcy,

I prefer to add it to food. That way the whole dose is usually consumed. The bread treat is OK too if gluten is not a problem. Any water that is consumed should not contain chlorine. So all the water you give should be filtered whether it is in the water bowl or in the food bowl. You do not need to wait a half hour from drinking purified water.
