Health Questions & Answers

My 14 year old dog has had her knee caps surgery about 6 years ago. Now she is old she started not being good on her back legs. My mom told me about Promaxol and she wrote to someone and they say she can have it twice a day. After while I took her back to once a day and she wasn't doing any good. So, I put her back on it twice a day. She is a diabetic and on insulin twice a day. How long can she take the Promaxol twice day before it starts hurting her? I don't want her to be in pain.

Dear Marcie,

I would try giving a half dose on her breakfast and a half dose with supper. You can do the two half doses until she improved. Then you can go back to a whole dose once daily and whenever necessary you may use the twice daily method. You can do this as long as you like.

Best regards,
