Health Questions & Answers

I just purchased the 3 bottle pkg of ARTHRO-IONX for my almost 12 year old dog. Lexi is a cross between a Golden Retriever and an Irish Wolfhound. She is having mobility problems now. The vet said to give her an 81 coated aspirin and also a glucosamine product - and I do this. She is getting worse. She weighs about 88 pounds. Sometimes she has difficulty getting in and out of her dog door. She does not jump into the car - we lift her rear end to get her in. Do I use the 3/4 teaspoon dose of this med like the chart shows for her? Can I mix it in some "wet" food for her (each morning I give her small amount of it)? Normally she is on a good weight management dry food for her food, the wet food is a morning treat each day. (Not I have had Lexi since she was 3 months old and it tears me up to see her having these old age mobility issues. Thank you so much!

Dear Shirley,

I would give 1/2 teaspoon on the canned food with breakfast and the 1/4 teaspoon on canned food with supper. I would give a grain-free diet. What is the protein source of the food that you are currently feeding? Does your dog tend to feel warm or cool? Are you giving other supplements?

Best regards,
