I have a 2 year old mini Australian Shepherd who is showing signs of Hip Dysplasia. She is not in pain but has a little hop when she runs, she also runs with both back legs together and her feet point out. I would like to help her avoid the pain and discomfort that is sure to come. what should I give her and what exercise would help her strengthen the muscles? Would swimming help?

Dear Jim,

You may use ARTHRO-IONX along with other medications or supplements. It is homeopathic in nature and so it will not negatively interact with other physical substances. ARTHRO-IONX helps to stimulate healing. In addition I find it helpful to follow a holistic approach by giving some nutritional supplements to accompany ARTHRO-IONX. The supplements I recommend are Canine Probiotics, MSM, Vitamin C, Glucosamine, and Omega 3,6,9. ARTHRO-IONX will help the body to better utilize the nutrition for a synergistic response.

In addition it is usually helpful to consult with a veterinary chiropractor. Proper alignment can reduce the stress on the hips and improve function. Swimming or short walks would be good to maintain muscle tone.

Please let us know how you progress or if you have any other questions.

Best wishes,
