Health Questions & Answers

I have 4 American bulldogs ..2 of which have skin issues.. 1 has red itchy skin and loves to swim in the pool...and the other has seborrhea (the dry kind) my question is will it help them both? They are eating SPORT-MIX® Wholesome With Lamb Meal & Rice. I would like to know what the best/cheapest way to help them..I have been bathing Stella (seborrhea) with a descaling shampoo also.

Dear Trish,

You might want to look at some of our products to help heal the skin. Derma-IonX which is an oral homeopathic product stimulates the enzyme systems in the body which reduces itching and inflammation , promotes healing of the skin and helps with assimilation of nutritional components in diet and supplements. The supplements I use along with it include Canine probiotics, vitamin C, MSM, and Omega 3,6,9. Together with Derma-IonX it produces a synergistic effect for a faster response. I would also suggest that you give your dogs only filtered water for drinking and bathing if your water contains chlorine or fluoride. For the dietary modifications you might want to try a cooling food in Chinese food therapy. Lamb and chicken are considered to be warming which can worsen the already warm skin. Fish and turkey are more cooling so they may be better choices if they are not allergic to those protein sources. I would also avoid GMO grains.

Defendex shampoo which is nontoxic washes away debris and soothes the skin. Using these products can help improve the skin. Please feel free to contact us again if you have any other questions.

Best wishes,

Dr. Char
