My 10 and a half year old Alaskan Malamute recently tore his Cruciate ligament in his rear leg. I have consulted a conventional and holistic vet. Both have concurred that he has arthritis in this leg. He is currently on Tramadol, Rimadyl, and Ligaplex by Standard Process. He also is wearing an A-trac brace. I would if at all possible like to get him off the Rimadyl, can you make any suggestions?

Dear Margaret,

I would give a half dose of ARTHRO-IONX twice daily on the breakfast and supper food. Once you see improvement you can talk to your veterinarian about decreasing the Rimadyl dosage. After a while you can change to a whole dose of ARTHRO-IONX once daily. I would also give PROBIOTICS and OMEGA 3,6,9 for added support.

Please keep us updated so we can offer more guidance.

Best regards,
