Hello, I used the complete bottle of Derma-IonX and it did not help my dog. I am at my wits end as to how to help him with his itching. He does not have fleas or scabbies. I have tried benadryl. Our vet gave him a shot of cortisone and a medicated bath and that didn't help. I don't know what to do for him. I feel so bad and I know it has to bother him mentally. He also lost lots of hair and we found out he had hypothyroidism and is taking medicine for that. He's been on the medicine for (3) weeks now. Can you offer any advise as to how I can treat his itching and what the cause may be? Thanks for you help. Deneen

Dear Deneen,

Initially I like to split the dose of DERMA-IONX in half and give it twice daily on the breakfast and supper. In your case I would syringe it into the mouth 10 minutes away from food. After some improvement is seen you can give the whole dose once a day. Cortisone tends to interfere with the efficacy of homeopatics.

I would also give probiotics and Omega 3,6,9 to help rebuild the immune system and reduce inflammation. PROBIOTICS help to restore the gut which usually needs improvement when there are skin issues.

If your water contains chlorine use filtered water for drinking and bathing. What kind of food and treats do you give? The protein source is very important. According to Chinese food therapy one would select the protein based upon the patient's temperature preference. Does your dog prefer to lay by the fire or by a cool door or tile floor?

You might also want to shampoo with DEFENDEX. The essential oils in it are very helpful.

Please let us know how you are doing so we can help guide you.

Best regards,
