My dog has a hard time breathing how can I help him and what is the cause of this- it is getting bad. I did try to help him all I can. I  tried nose relief, but that did not help yet and he chews at his feet all the time which is hard to stop. I need help with this and a vet here is a high price. If I need to go to a vet I will, thanks.

Dear Mark,

I think you might need to see a veterinarian to get a diagnosis. There could be some alternative things you could do once you know what you are dealing with. You could try to use an antihistamine to decongest the nasal passages. Probiotics can compete against some bacteria. Your veterinarian might want to give antibiotics and if so you should use probiotics along with it. I hope the condition is not more serious such as cancer or sometimes a foreign body can get into the nose. The most likely cause is severe allergies.

When there are allergies it is often helpful to feed a grain free fish based dog food and give Omega 3,6,9 and probiotics.

Please let us know what you find out.
