We have 17 cats, one being recently diagnosed with diabetes. Being on a limited income, what cat food can I afford that I can feed the diabetic cat and the others. I ordered your Dia-IonX treatment, and are waiting on the arrival of it. I am hoping it works as well as the reviews say.

Dear Dawn,

Diabetic cats should not be fed any dry food at all. Low carbohydrate canned foods that are nonprescription include Friskies Classic Pate Salmon, Fancy Feast - Savory Salmon Feast, Turkey and Giblets Feast, and White Meat Chicken Florentine. These are 2% or lower in carbohydrates. Otherwise prescription food such as canned Purina DM can be given to the diabetic kitty.

Best regards,

Dr. Char
