I have 2 sibling brother & sister cats that are 4 years old. They both are scratching and biting their belly, legs, etc. The vet gave Prednisone shots and pills but it is not helping that much and I don't like to keep them on this medicine, what would you suggest? Doris

Dear Doris,

You might want to look at some of our products to help heal the skin. Derma-IonX which is an oral homeopathic product stimulates the enzyme systems in the body which reduces itching and inflammation , promotes healing of the skin and helps with assimilation of nutritional components in diet and supplements. The supplements I use along with it include Probiotics and Omega 3,6,9. Together with Derma-IonX it produces a synergistic effect for a faster response. I would also suggest that you give your cats only filtered water for drinking and bathing if your water contains chlorine or fluoride. For the dietary modifications you might want to try a grain free diet for a while. In the summer I try to feed cooling foods according to Chinese food theory such as fish or turkey. Beef is considered neutral. Chicken, lamb, and venison are warming. Try to avoid any proteins that you think they might be allergic to.

Please let us know how they do and feel free to contact us again if you have any other questions.

Best wishes,

Dr. Char www.vetionx.com
