I am DESPARATE. My cat has been on Dia-IonX for about a year. For a month or more she has been losing weight despite her voracious appetite. For two days now she has not eaten but taken only a little bit of liquid. I wonder if this is a further deterioration because of the diabetes, or is it something that will pass. Is there anything else I can give her to get over the loss of appetite? Thank you Delores

Dear Delores,

Dehydration and acidosis can develop in diabetics if not well regulated. IV fluids can help with that. Also diabetics are prone to infection. If you could bring a fresh clean urine sample to your veterinarian they could could check for infection. Antibiotics and fluids could make a positive difference in that case. You should call your veterinarian and ask what they can do to help you.
