Dear Wayne,

It would be safer to use ARTHRO-IONX than to give steroids for an elderly cat with kidney disease. It can decrease pain and inflammation without the side effects associated with steroids. In addition I would give probiotics and Omega 3,6,9 to lower the stress on the kidneys and reduce inflammation.

Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Best wishes,

Dr. Char www.vetionx.com
