My 6.5 lb Chihuahua was diagnosed with severe Immune-mediated thrombocytopenia (IMT) on 12/31/2015..We noticed what we thought was a rash in the morning by 2pm she was covered with litte bruises. We took her to the vet that day. When they did a blood test she had zero platlets.. They gave her chemo and prednisone. Her level is much better. We just got a new drug in the mail called Azathioprine 10mg not knowing it was chemo. I did not give it to her last night they tell me she will die w/out it. Any ideas at all. I have worked my whole life in a wellness practice and use homeopathy for everything. Thank you

Dear Carolyn,

I would be inclined to use the drug until things have been stable for a while and then I would ask your veterinarian about decreasing the dosage.
Meanwhile I would give ARTHRO-IONX at a half dose twice daily on the breakfast and supper food. Give it at a time away from medications. I would also give PROBIOTICS to support the gut while you are using the drug. Once there are adequate platelets then I would try giving a small amount of OMEGA 3,6,9 to decrease inflammation. What kind of food and water are you giving?

Please keep us updated so we can help guide you.

Best regards,
