The loss of a beloved pet can be devastating. There is no timetable on when a pet-parent's heart and soul will heal, and sometimes the pain seems as if it will never go away (I say this from my own personal experience).
One pet-parent came up with a wonderful ideal to help heal their hurt and loss, all while paying tribute to their pet. A tub filled with tennis balls and a sign left on a dog beach with a simple note attached to it informing passersby to "help yourself to a tennis ball for your dog."
The note in its entirety read (with an adorable picture included on it):
"In Loving memory of Phoebe - Please help yourself to a tennis ball for your dog to enjoy. You may wish to pop it back in the box afterwards for another pooch to enjoy. Remember to live each moment just like your dog; with unconditional love, loyalty, and happiness."
One passerby, Jerry Oliveri, snapped a photo of the tub and posted it online. It went viral. Jerry Oliveri said, "He saw the sign while walking around his local dog beach."
Losing a beloved pet is one of the most difficult things a pet-parent will ever experience.
What would you do to honor your pet's memory?
