National RD Day Breakfast, Lunch and Snacks
Happy RD Day!
As a registered dietitian (RD) myself, I am very excited to be able to celebrate National RD Day!
Of course, as a true foodie, I am celebrating with just that – FOOD.
National RD Day Breakfast Smoothie
I started the day off with a fabulously nutritious smoothie made with banana, flax seed, wheat germ, almond milk, chocolate whey protein, and plenty of fresh organic spinach (similar to this recipe).
National RD Day Hummus Sandwich
For lunch I am enjoying a sandwich made with homemade whole grain bread, sliced avocado, and hummus with a side of bright red grapes and sliced carrots (fresh from our share of the CSA!).
National RD Day Snacks - Cherry Granola and Black Bean Brownies
And I also made a couple of delicious, nutritious treat to share with my team at work – homemade cherry granola and black bean brownies. Mmm, mmm, good!
What’s for dinner? Well, that will be up to my husband as he is taking the reins on food and nutrition for this meal. So, until then I will have to ask you…
