I've used a few different whiteners in the past, and found that only the hardcore strips (the ones that like glue on to your teeth) work for me.  The toothpastes and mouthwashes just don't seem to have any more whitening power than normal toothpaste.  What's your favorite!?

While I am certainly no expert on professional teeth whiteners, did you know that Mother Nature's bounty can help you create a bright and shiny grin just as well?

Nature's Stainers

You may already know that by avoiding certain foods and beverages such as red wine, sodas, coffee, and tea, that you will be able to prevent stains from darkening your teeth... but did you know that certain foods and beverages can help to lessen the damaging stains that have already ensued?

Nature's Whiteners

I like to think of apples as nature's toothbrush. That massive crunch that takes place each time you bite into a juicy apple can help to scrub away the stains already deposited on your teeth that morning or afternoon. Apples also contain malic acid , a chemical ingredient that you may actually find on some of the whitening products you purchased at the store! Similarly, strawberries can help to not only wipe away stains but their vitamin C can help to remove the plaque buildup.

Washing to Whiten

Outside of these delicious options, I will always recommend water. After you sip on tea or coffee, be sure to take a big swig of water. This is important as such beverages can actually weaken the enamel on your teeth... therefore if you choose to brush your teeth instead, you could actually cause more harm than good.

Hope this helps. Mother Nature is simply full of surprises!

For a long time I used the power strips, which worked quickly and effectively. But they hurt like crazy and weren't exactly clean. But then, I found that rigorous use of whitening toothpaste works too! It takes longer, and you have to be on a strict regimen, (twice a day or more), and it does actually work. That is what I use now, and my teeth aren't dingy.
