My top 5 favorite exercises
I recently realized I've fallen out of my regular workout routine. The past 4 weeks have been brutal with different projects and productions going at the same time. So to get back into it, I thought I'd share some of the core exercises I do to stay in shape!
This is definitely a staple! It's super easy to do; you just need a good pair of shoes and the time to do it! It's a super awesome go-to cardio workout for me - especially when it's cold out, and I have my treadmill. I'm going to try to get back to 30 minutes a day of walking/running for 5 or 6 days a week.
2. Concentration Curls!
However small my arms are, they are well defined! This is my absolute favorite arm exercise. I pick a relatively heavy weight for my ability, usually about 40lbs, and do a curl in a sitting position. The key is counting to 5 on your way up and then 5 on the way down. It should be frustratingly slow both ways, and it isn't a high repetition exercise.
3. Standard Push-up!
The push-up works your chest better than most exercises! Why? You're taking a natural form when you do it, and it hits your muscles super hard. It can't, by any means, replace a bench press, but for maintaining muscle mass and adding definition, they rock!
My favorite ab workout! You can really feel this if you do it right. Lay on your back, and lay your hands flat beside. With your legs out, pedal them as if you were on a bike by bringing your knees in and out. Do 1 set one way, then another in reverse for a good stomach burn!
5. French press
For an awesome tricep exercise, take a free weight over your head and pump it up and down behind you while trying to keep your elbows as straight as possible.
