what herbal teas are recommended for high pressure patients

Hmm... I've looked around and the two most agreed upon herbs seem to be hawthorn and valerian.

According to my research, hawthorn is supposed to be particularly rich in bioflavanoids (antioxidants) and to work in the body as a heart tonic. It is also said that hawthorn inhibits the ACE enzymes that lead to hypertension and Angiotensin hormone that triggers blood vessel constriction. Apparently Dr. Oz also recommends this tea for emotional stress, which is interesting because though I didn't know much about Hawthorn before now, I personally use Valerian tea for stress relief.

From what I've found, the benefits of Valerian tea for high blood pressure are less direct than with Hawthorn tea. Rather than working directly on the heart, valarian works as mild sedative and pain reliever. It's been studied for it's ability to increase GAMA levels, which in turn has a relaxing, anti-anxiety effect. Considering the negative effects of emotional stress on your overall health though, it probably wouldn't be a bad idea for anyone to use valerian to help manage stress or for high blood pressure patients in particular to.

Hope this helps! :)
