kale kāl/ noun noun: kale; noun: kail

1. a hardy cabbage of a variety that produces erect stems with large leaves and no compact head.

Maybe it depends on the store you go to? Maybe it depends on the season? Not sure why your grocery store is always out of it, that is a good question for the Store Manager. Good Luck.
