Health Questions & Answers

Hello, I have a four and a half year old male Shih Tzu who started exhibiting symptoms of pain and stiffness about 5 days ago, walking around very slowly with not much interest in anything. At first, I thought he pulled a muscle in his back or had a pinched nerve from his usual antics during playtime with my other two Shih Tzus. However, I began noticing that he would not look to his left and if he did, he quickly jerked his head back to the right. I should point out that he has been eating and drinking normally and his potty habits have also been normal. He just doesn't want to do anything and he has been just laying on his bed. He does have muscle twitching on his left side below his neck, shoulder area. I took him to the vet yesterday and she did some various manipulations on him and she concluded that he did either pinch a nerve in his neck, or possibly strained a muscle. Her recommendation was rest and Metacam. The little guy had a rough night last night and for the first time, at around midnight, he woke up panting and was crying in pain. Until then, he had not been vocal with the pain. It took us a few minutes to calm him down and make him comfortable until he finally went back to sleep. He started the meds yesterday afternoon and he was feeling better so I don't know if he did too much although it did not seem so to me. Yesterday, I did order a bottle of the Promaxol from VETiONX based on all the great reviews about it. It should be here by Thursday. Anyway, is there anything else I should be doing for him other than encouraging rest? Thanks!

Good Day Marina~

Thank you for contacting us in regards to our product, Promaxol. We are so sorry to hear that one of your dogs has injured themselves during play. We understand how upsetting and frustrating this time can be when our pet's struggle with a health issue as we only want them to feel better.

We are glad you are trying our Promaxol. Using our Promaxol pain relief formula, which has higher LM potencies and will help with quicker relief.

We also recommend to give digestive enzymes with each meal such as; MSM, vitamin C, probiotics, and fish oil. The oligotherapeutic mineral base found in the IonX products helps the body to better utilize the other nutritional substances given for a synergistic response and faster healing.

I included a blog, that I wrote, which discusses the benefits of Fish Oil too, I hope you find this informational. :-)

Make sure to give sufficient fresh water that is free of chlorine and fluoride and if you can gradually phase into a grain free diet (if you haven't already), that can be helpful too when our pets immune system has been compromised. Please avoid using stainless steel and metal bowls when using our oral products, ceramic is best. You can also add it to his food instead, insuring he is getting the full dosage amount instead of putting it into the water dish.

We are so thrilled you visited and consulted with a veterinary chiropractor. We also recommend that you look into a veterinarian that is licensed and certified in acupuncture. Increased pressure on the vertebral nerves will result in poor function. You will want a certified or licensed veterinary that is trained in TCVM (Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine), so you should check in your state to see what, if any, certification is offered. The chiropractic care helps to adjust your pet's spine into proper position, and may be beneficial for pets suffering immobility. The acupuncture will help the body to use its natural energy to heal.

One 4 fl. oz. bottle is a one month supply for a 30 lb. dog.

We hope all these suggestions helps your dog find relief and comfort soon. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns anytime.

P.S. I LOVE the picture of your fur babies, they are so adorable!
