Hi. I never heard back from you, had described my dog's history... he is 16, Australian Shepherd, history of ibs, arthritis, still very active. I tried Arthro-IonX and the H2O-IONX faithfully for 6 weeks, diarrhea and flatulence much worse, stiffness not improved. Is it worth trying the Promaxol? Different enough formulation? He is on fish oil, digestive enzymes, Chinese herbs, thyroid meds. Please advise. I would like to avoid nsaids. Thanks.

Dear Cally,

I apologize you didn't receive my first response I sent you. Please check your spam box, as unfortunately, sometimes responses back get dumped into customers spam boxes.

I would give Promaxol instead of Arthro-IonX for now. I would only use a half dose of each at different times of the day. It has the addition of the LM potencies which increases it's scope of activity. The herbs could be reducing its effectiveness so I would give them separately. I would try to change the protein source from chicken to fish or turkey. It would need to be done very gradually or could worsen the diarrhea. Chicken is considered to be a warming food and IBD is a hot condition. See if you can add back in the d-flame. It could help reduce the gut inflammation.

Please let us know how you do.

Best regards,

Dr. Char
