Hello, We have a 5 1/2 year old female (spade at 8 months of age) Lab-Mastiff mix, about 100 lbs, who has difficulty getting up from a sitting or laying position. No other health problems. She has been on 2 tsp of Arthro-IonX once per day (for the last 4 months or so), mid morning and is taking 75 mg of Tramadol twice daily (about 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM. We would like to ask if there is something else you have that would help or anything you can recommend. Thank You, -Mitch & Carolyn-

Dear Mitch and Carolyn,

I would try 1 teaspoon twice daily on the food unless you are giving Tramadol at that time. I also suggest that you give digestive enzymes, probiotics, vitamin C, MSM, and fish oil daily. I would also give Thuja 30C from the health food store once daily at bedtime for 3 weeks. It is helpful to also feed your dog a Grain Free diet.

I would also suggest investing in a harness such as Guardian Gear 4 in 1 harness with handles to assist her when getting up. I have also found that chiropractic or acupuncture can be helpful in improving rear end stability.

Please let us know about the responses you see.

Best regards,

Dr. Char
