Our Wirehaired Pointer Griffon is beginning to lose hair on his ears and under his front legs (arm pits), and there are bites at various places on his body including his legs and in one ear. I have an appt with the vet (semi holistic) on Monday to verify. What is the least aggressive treatment? I have some Neem bug spray for humans from the Abaco Neem Farm and ordered the Defendex shampoo. Thanks for your suggestions! Sincerely, -Mary-

Dear Mary,

You could also give Derma-IonX orally and spray some topically on the worst lesions in-between baths to provide relief. You can bathe twice weekly if necessary if it is mites. I also like to give digestive enzyme, probiotics, MSM, and fish oil to strengthen the body.

Please let us know what you find out.

Best regards,

Dr. Char
