Health Questions & Answers

We have a 10 pound, 8 year old toy poodle. She is very healthy but she is a picky eater. Right now all she will eat is Purina Chef Michaels food. We really feel this is a poor quallity food. We have tried several kinds of food to no avail. Any suggestions on how we can get her on a good quality food? Thank you  -Jacque-

Dear Jacque,

I would suggest you go to a large pet store and ask for samples of high quality foods or other recommendations. Then mix the new food together with your food using 2/3 old and 1/3 new. If she eats the combo, after a few days go to 1/2 and 1/2, after a few more days increase it again. You might need to continue using your food as a topping if she is really fond of it. The other thing I recommend to encourage pets to eat their food is to sprinkle Purina's FortiFlora on top of the food. They seem to like the taste of the flavoring added to the probiotic.

Best regards,
