Is there help for my 13 yr old lab/shepherd mix who has incontinence? I change his diaper several times daily & give him INCONTINENCE by Only Natural Pet (which isn't working). The Arthro-IonX is helping his failing back legs. I want to make sure his senior time is comfortable & pain free. He still rings the bell to go out & always urinates outside but he leaks constantly & I feel it distresses him. I always pet him & reassure him that it is OK and not to worry. I massage his back legs and use a heated massager on his back legs. Please let me know what else I can do to make him happy. Thank You! -Gloria-

Dear Gloria,

In addition to Arthro-IonX I find it helpful to follow a holistic approach by giving some nutritional supplements. The supplements I recommend are Canine Probiotics, MSM, Vitamin C, and Omega 3,6,9. For German Shepherds I also like to use a Choline/ B vitamin supplement called Geri-Form which can help nourish the nerves. Arthro-IonX will help the body to better utilize the nutrition for a synergistic response. You can also get homeopathic Conium 30C from a health food store and give it once daily at bedtime for several weeks.

I also think it is helpful to have a veterinary chiropractor evaluate any dog with loss of function in the rear end. A correction often makes a positive difference in function.

Please let us know how you progress or if you have any other questions.

Best wishes,

Dr. Char
