Health Questions & Answers

My dog (female beagle (Peanut) who is 10 years, 7 mths has arthritis, had lumps removed last April & the July before; allergies & sinus issues & is mt best friend.  I brought her in to the vet becasue she was shaking & she had vomitted a bit (brought her in when vomited 2nd day); she was drinking way more water & urinating more; was not going poop. Vet thought maybe her arthritis was affecting her, but after I gave her aspirin she continued to shake later in the day.  I had them check if she was blocked they gave her enima & cleaned her out as well as shot to stop the vomiting.  I asked if it could be diabetes because this was going on for a week & she was not eating much. Vet checked blood & glucometer read 30! I have  to bring urine in on Monday (tomorrow) for them to check, not sure if it is diabetes or pancretitis? If it is diabetes; I've read where I can give the dog cinnamon, apple cider vinegar & a couple other things...what are your suggestions? Can they be given together, with Dia-IonX or on their own?  -Michael-

Dear Michael,

I would not give it with the cinnamon. The cinnamon should be one used for the treatment of diabetes and not your cooking spice. The other things are probably bland and would be OK to use at the same time as Dia-IonX.

Please let us know what the diagnosis is and we can offer more suggestions.

Best regards,
