Dealing with a Noisy Dog -- Conflicts of Neighbors

Tips for Dealing with a Noisy Dog

A neighbor dog that is barking loudly can be stressful. Here are some tips to follow:

  • Record the activity of the dog's barking. When is it happening the most? Is it happening at at time where you need silence? Keep notes in case you need to take action with animal control.
  • Make sure your fence is high enough that the dog cannot jump over. Check how stable the fence is, and look for any spots that dog may be digging or trying to get through. Note if the dog is on a leash. If not, tell the owner you would feel safer if the dog was on a leash.
  • Do not involve the authorities unless it is serious. It may create more problems with your neighbors.

Sometimes the situation can be resolved quickly. But for cases where it isn't able to be fixed, you can follow through with a product that is called the “Bark Free.”
It is a sound emitting device that is small enough to rest on a window sill and will only be heard by the dog. It is safe and easy to use, and can be a last resort if asking your neighbors does not work.

For more information on the Bark Free, I have provided a link at the bottom, and the reviews on Amazon. Try it out, and see how it works for you.
