Soluble versus insoluble fiber: Some nutritionists believe that irritable bowel syndrome sufferers' intestines react differently to soluble and insoluble fiber. Recipes that offer high soluble fiber meals have said to improve symptoms. While a person should not avoid insoluble fiber as it is essential for the body, it should be consumed on a full stomach.
