Lower Carb Apple Crisp

I found this recipe on the Truvia website and was quite pleased with the results. This apple crisp has 30% fewer calories and 60% less sugar than the sugar-sweetened version.

  1. 4 medium tart cooking apples, sliced 4 cups
  2. 1 Tbsp + 2 1/4 tsp Truvia® natural sweetener spoonable*
  3. 2 Tablespoons cup all-purpose flour
  4. 1 × ½ cup quick cooking oats
  5. 1 × ½ cup all purpose flour
  6. 1 Tbsp + 2 1/4 tsp Truvia® natural sweetener spoonable*
  7. ¾ tsp ground cinnamon
  8. ¾ tsp ground nutmeg
  9. ¼ cup butter, melted
  10. 1 × 1½ Tbsp brown sugar
  11. 1 × ⅛ tsp salt
  12. 1 × Non-stick cooking spray

You may also need:

Bowl, Oven, Spoon

Step 1:

Preheat oven to 375°F.

Step 2:

Place apples in a large bowl; sprinkle with Truvia® and 2 tablespoons flour, toss to coat the fruit.

Step 3:

Spray 9-inch baking dish with non-stick spray; Place apple mixture in dish.

Step 4:

In a separate small bowl, combine oats, ½ cup flour, Truvia® natural sweetener, cinnamon, nutmeg, melted butter, brown sugar and salt; stir to form crumbly mixture.

Step 5:

Sprinkle crumb mixture on top of apples.

Step 6:

Bake 35-40 minutes until apples are tender.
