I know there is a lot of talk about fish oil. Which is better fish oil or flaxseed oil?

Guess it depends on what you're looking for!

If it's vitamin A or D - only cod liver oil has it. If it's omega 3 - they've both got it, but flaxseed oil definitely has more. Finally, if you're trying to avoid cholesterol - flaxseed oil has none.

Interesting. How does Krill oil stack up against the other two?

Hmm... I've done a lot of searching on this one, but the only nutrition facts I was able to find for krill oil was at a supplement website and the "serving size' was 2 tablets. The packaging does say "500mg" which would lead me to believe that's what those 2 tablets add up to, but I can't really be sure. If it they did, by my (poor) math skills, 10 calories per 500mg = 100 calories per 1tsp - so krill oil would be significantly more caloric than flaxseed or cod liver oil.

But that doesn't really jive well with me. Doesn't seem right that this fat should be so different than the others, so I'm not really confident converting nutrition values for it.

What I did find however was that krill oil was similar to fish oil (unspecified type) in regards to omega 3, but contained a special antioxidant and pigment - astaxanthin - which it takes on as a result of the krill's plankton diet. Apparently this is meant to be especially beneficial for the brain eyes and nervous system.

Would love to see some comparisons on hemp, borage, maybe primrose oils?

I'm not sure which is better, I love fish and I used to eat a lot of it when I lived in CA and was able to spearfish.
