Callie is 18 yr old inside cat. She is fragile, thin, matted hair. Eats good but does drink a lot of water. I can't afford a bunch of test as I'm old & fragile, too. Can I give her the Dia-lonx without vet test first? -Kathey-

Dear Kathey,

Yes you can give Dia-IonX without testing. I would also give some supplements too, such as digestive enzymes, probiotics, and fish oil. It would also be good to feed her more canned food than dry food. You might want to get some urine strips to check for sugar in the urine. Older cats can develop diabetes or kidney failure. If there is no sugar in the urine you could assume that the kidneys are more of an issue and try dietary support.
