Health Questions & Answers

My cat has sprained her left hind quarter. It has been 6 weeks and is still swollen. Vet x-rayed and examined him and said it was a severe sprain. He caught his claw in the carpet as he was rolling back and forth. There seems to be nothing wrong with his claw, but on his haunch part, some people call it an elbow, it is tender and I as afraid that he has torn a ligament or tendon. Can't afford to take him back to the vet. The medicine we got from them causes heart burn. It seems to help, but I don't want Twippy to get heart burn or stomach ulcers. I have been giving him Arthro-IonX once daily with his other medicine. I cannot see that it has helped him at all. He is 8 yrs. old tabby cat and no longer jumps up. I put him on my roll around walker and wheel him around the house so he can be with me. He weighs 13 lbs. My mother & I love Twippy. Please help. Thank you. -Susan-

Dear Susan,

I would try giving 10 drops with breakfast and 10 drops with supper. I would also give it a separate time from the other medication. In addition, I would give digestive enzymes, probiotics, and a little fish oil such as Omega 3,6,9.
I would also recommend veterinary chiropractic. If bones are out of alignment healing will be slowed down.

Please let us know how you do. Thanks.

Best regards,

Dr. Char
