My cat has what I thought was dermatitis..the vet then thought scabies. He gave her shot for it..I was putting your Derma-IonX on her eye that was sore and swollen. She was doing ok..this first day of spraying the wound and of the shot he gave her. Then I decided to add a 1/2 teaspoon to her food and beneath her eye now is blood red and raw all of a sudden. I am alarmed. Is this the medicine doing something. for now I will discontinue using. -Maryann-

Dear Maryann,

I would not spray Derma-IonX by the eye because you could get it into the eye. If there are any lesions that are farther away you could spray it there, but never directly in or near the eye. I would rely on Derma-IonX orally. For cats I give 10 drops twice daily on some canned food. I think you should have your veterinarian check the area because if the shot is causing the mites to die, the area could become very itchy and she could traumatize the area by rubbing it.

Please let us know how it does.

Best regards,
