Dear Karon,

Cats can eat dry cat food if taking Dia-IonX. We also use Dia-IonX for cats with kidney problems and they can eat an appropriate dry food. But cats who are diabetic should not eat dry cat if you wish them to really get better and want to create an environment where insulin is no longer needed. In studies where cats being fed wet food were able to get off insulin, they reverted back to needing insulin after there diet was returned to dry food. The carbohydrate content of dry food puts a lot of stress on the pancreas.

Best regards,

Dr. Char
