My cat was diagnosed with diabetes about 5 months ago. we are trying to not have to give insulin shots. Fefe is a 9 year old American Short Hair.  She had gotten quite thin before we took her to the vet. she is about 6lbs. We give her 1/2 5mg. glipizide morning and night and inbetween Dia-IonX 2.5cc.  She has stayed the same weight since the beginning.  What can I do to help her gain some weight?  We feed her low carb higher protein food.  Atkins diet, good to lose bad to gain.  Her personality went down hill from the beginning and remains that way.  This is very sad for us and I am on a fixed income, so something budget friendly.  I am 72 and what something that doesnt require me adding more complications to her feeding routine. I hope you can help.  She really needs to gain some weight.  Thank you -Ken-

Dear Ken,

In addition give digestive enzymes with each meal, a probiotic, and Omega 3,6,9. You might add a little olive oil for additional calories. Make sure that you offer sufficient water free of chlorine and fluoride.

Please let us know of your response.

Best wishes,
