This lovely tale starts with mother, Amy Jung, and her son who decided on a whim to stop in at a local humane society. They went there intending just to play with the cats, but ended up falling in love with a 21-pound cat named Pudding (don't you love that his name?!) and they adopted him on the stop.
It was destiny.
But unfortunately, it wasn't long after they returned home that the day took a horrible turn. Amy, who had suffered from type 1 diabetes since she was a child had just gotten into bed when for some reason, she went into a diabetic seizure which left her unconscious.
Well, Pudding most have felt some instant attachment to Amy because he sprang to the rescue! First, he jumped on her chest to try and wake her up.
But, Amy still lay fast asleep. Then, Pudding resulted in nudging and nipping her face, trying desperately to awake his new found owner. Finally for a brief moment, Amy’s eyes opened, she returned to consciousness, called out to her son, and he dialed 911 for help.
Amy truly believed that without Pudding she wouldn’t have woken up the next morning. With her already in her bedroom at night, people would have just thought she was asleep, not unconscious from a seizure.
To bring this tale to an end, Pudding is now a registered therapy cat due to his good deed. So, just remember, your cats may care about you more than you think. Don’t get discouraged if they decide not to sit in your lap that day…they will surely come to your rescue if they see you in distress!
