Man Kicks His Own Cat, Sentenced to 90 Days in Jail!

By Bri Luginbill More Blogs by This Author

Hello and welcome, once again, to The Scratchpad! Something just plain terrible has happened in the cat community. And, this event will be sure to anger and disturb all those cat owners out there.

Percy Love, a proud pet owner, ran up to his cat, Nightmare, and kicked him about 15-18 feet. While the cat was in mid-air, he proceeded to raise his arms as if he had scored a field goal.

My reaction: What was this guy thinking? What was going through his mind? What was he going through that made him strike out against a harmless animal? Who DOES this sort of thing?

This was what Love had to say for himself, “He is tough, we play like that all the time. It’s just a cat.

Hmmm, I am sure you two play like that all the time. I mean what animal doesn’t like being punted in the air? (sarcasm intended)

Thankfully, Love is being punished for his wrongdoing. He was sentenced to 90 days in jail this past Wednesday and received a misdemeanor for animal cruelty.

So, what happened to his poor cat, Nightmare?

He was sent to an Animal Care and Control Facility, where he recovered quite well.

Despite the terrible abuse, the cat is doing quite well. He is a very friendly and affectionate cat,” said Cherie Travis via Facebook.

And in even better news, Nightmare was actually adopted by a loving family! The family has other cats and dogs, so he will have lots of companions to play with. Even though this was a horrible thing to happen to Nightmare, at least he recovered well and was able to find a more loving owner and family. Now he will be treated like he should be!

What did YOU think about this?

What would you do if you saw someone kick a cat?

  • If I saw someone do that, I'd be tempted to kick them and see how much fun they have.

  • UGH! People (just can't use the word human) that abuse animals abuse others! He will strike out at another poor animal or human.....he needs mental help on top of his sentencing.....

  • I know! People that hurt innocent animals are just horrible. If he had something going on in his life or a mental issue where he struck out like's still no excuse. I agree, Victoria, he needs some help to sort through his issues!

  • Animal abuse is one of the most despicable things...their so pure hearted and innocent. That monster probably likes to abuse anything or anyone he sees as not being able to fight back. What scum.
