This is a great question.

To date, there have not been any large-scale trials looking at patients taking both Guanfacine and Synaptol at the same time, though it is important to remember that Synaptol is a Homeopathic product.  According to the National Institutes of Health’s National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine…

“Homeopathic remedies are not known to interfere with conventional drugs; however, if you are considering using homeopathic remedies, you should discuss this with your health care provider first.”

Because of the lack of research, no one can say for sure what would be the best way to start Synaptol in a child who is already on Guanfacine.  There are some people who would keep the child on the Guanfacine and add the Synaptol, to look for added benefit.  While other people would stop the Guanfacine and start the Synaptol to see if the symptoms are under control with only the Synaptol.

Because every individual is different, I do recommend talking things over with your child’s doctor.
