It Works --- what do the doctors say about this program?

Body wraps to lose weight? I've heard that you can dehydrate and in mind they are only a temporary fix. My daughter is considering their use as well as "selling" as it has become quite the fad for the 20 somethings. I'm concerned as she has had a heart flutter in the past; had a cardiac ablation, but could this set it off again? There is also a history of high blood pressure on both sides of the family. If you go to their website "It Works!" you of course see only what they want you to see, sorry, I'm pretty negative on this and want to know the pitfalls. What do doctors say about such programs?

One of my cats is bullying the others, please help!

I have 4 cats who live on the finished lower level of the house...they have all been together for almost 2 years now. The newest male has started aggressively bullying the others and is causing significant stress (all are altered). He's a little over 2 years old. Can this product help him stop bullying?

Giving Derma-IonX to my Cat

My cat has been pulling his fur out on his back when he's grooming himself. He was given a cortisone shot by a Vet which stopped his hair pulling for three months. When it started again I decided to try a natural product, knowing that cortisone has side affects if used long term.I've been giving him Derma-IonX for 1 month now and he's still pulling his hair out. Does this mean it isn't going to work or could it just take more time. I know that natural products take time. Thanks, Virginia

Dog with allergies

We have a tweenie Dachshund named Brady.  He is incredibly intelligent and loving. We adopted him. Our vet has said that he is at the point of sending us to a dermatalogist,  because he does not have any more answers to help us. The last medication we used was my Singular which did nothing. -Audrey-

Dog with allergies, please help!

I have a rescue Weimaraner-neutered male age 5 for aprx 8 mo. 3 months ago he developed an allergy to something. Nothing had changed food, environment etc. Vet gave him a cortisone shot which helped considerably within 48 hrs to stop the rash, itching and scratching. I was and still am giving 50mg 2x a day of generic Benadryl. I am currently feeding 2x a day Taste of the Wild Salmon base kibble and raw ground turkey 50/50. I wrap the Benedryl in a very small amount of cheese. I am working on geting him on only raw food. The fact that the cortisone shot worked indicates that it may not be a food allergy but I don't want him on prednisone which I know the vet will prescribe. Any suggestions? -Gerry-

Need help reading glucose test strip

I spoke with Julie (she is amazing and so caring on your order line), and she suggested I send you a questionary email. My little min-pin was 193 urine stick about 4 days ago. I tested at home with Diastick and see only dark brown with 2000+ and 2%. What does this mean and is it reliable? I don't know what to think.....What now? I really need your advice in how to proceed with Sara. She drinks and piddles frequently. Little appetite now. I'm afraid that she needs insulin. Can you advise me what to do? Thank you so much, Jeanne

Dog is suffering from itchy skin, please help!

We have 2 pugs with sensitive and itchy skin. Our female is 5-1/2 and about 6 months ago she started having these episodes at night where she wakes us up and wants us to scratch her. Actually she acts as if something is biting her. We have had her at the vets a number of times. They could not find anything. She was on steroids to help take the edge off. I do not like giving her meds so we tried a number of things on our own. A diet of all fish...cocoanut oil...using organic apple cider vinegar....fish oil...changing laundry detergent....nothing seems to help. Our male is 9 and I feel he just has dry skin. I can see flakes when I brush him. His skin is very sensitive also. You recommend Derma-IonX. Do you feel that could help? I read that it can be administered by mouth. Is it tasteless and is it given according to the dogs weight? Look forward to your reply -Debbie-

Has anyone tried lactose-free milk?

Lactose intolerance has been on my mind a lot lately, as I seem to be having more problems digesting milk as of late. I typically don't drink a lot of milk, but I was starting to miss my morning bowl of cereal! Anyway, I was grocery shopping yesterday and came across lactose-free milk and thought I'd give it a try. I was amazed - it tastes just like the 2% I would normally drink, and I haven't had any trouble digesting it so far! Obviously, it's more expensive than regular milk (over double the price, actually) but it's kind of nice for a little splurge every once in a while. Have any of you tried lactose-free milk? Have you had any successes with it?

Vegetarian Concerns

For ethical reasons, I’ve been considering a switch over to a vegetarian diet. I’ve read a lot about the benefits of the diet – weight loss, more energy, lowered risk of heart disease and cancer – but are there any risks of a vegetarian diet and if so, how can these be overcome?
