Severly heavy period - help! :(
Questions, thoughts, and opinions welcome! Sorry male race, this one's for the girls.... About two years ago, I had a miscarriage, which was my third, in fact. I have had 3 live births, 2 natural and one c-section. After my last miscarriage, I felt my depression kicking in, I stopped eating, and my sleep was also affected. After about 3 weeks of this, I got an IUD put in..... 2 years later, I am about 70 lbs heavier, and unhappy, more depressed than ever. I have changed my diet about as often as a rat mates. I have increased my water intake, watch what I put in my mouth, and walk daily. What am I doing wrong?? Could it be my Mirena? It seems as though I conitnue to gain weight rather than shed it... Now, my menstrual cycle lasts about 10-12 days, my pad has to be changed about every hour and a half, and I even have severe clotting... Is there anything anyone can suggest? These mood swings and fatigue, I'm just not having it anymore.

I realize the change in hormones are responsible, but wouldn't you think that we'd have evolved to handle that a little better? Anyone out there have tips for easing PMS without overdoing the pain meds and sleeping pills?
