Sami
Dr char, here I am still putting Sami thru hell. She has been 4 months now on the nzymes. They say could take 3-7 months. She still gets derma-ionx and bottle water along with it. No secondary infection but skin under legs still black. My biggest concern is the groaning and back legs kicking. That started 2 years ago. I think might have to do with the liver enzymes being a bit high. Gets ursodile since last jan. is coming down but think the yeast coming thru the liver might be why it shows. Don,t know if necessary to continue the expense of blood check and meds if the cleansing might be reason shows high enzymes. I know my vet does not believe in the natural approach. The groaning and kicking of feet could be be from liver problem but when ask vet don't seem to know why. Thyroid was checked twice and told was okay, that was year ago. I am so stressed and so is Sami.

Read more…Skin Allergies
My dog is a terrier/daschund mix. I've had him for 5 years, and over this past year, he has developed skin allergies. Scab-like itching sores on his lower stomach. I took him to the vet, where she prescribed him antibiotics to rid him of this "bacteria". It worked, but now since the warm weather is back, he has them again. I feel as though antibiotics only allows for a short term cure and do not want to continue putting him on this or steroids like she has also suggested. Do you have any insight to offer regarding this? Please advise at your earliest convenience. Thank you
Read more…My dog was diagnosed with diabetes
Louie is a 11.5 yr. old female dog and was diagnosed diabetes last Thursday. We cannot afford the cost that they gave us to get her regulated on insulin. When I researched diabetes I found your web site and will be starting Louie on the Dia-Ion X tomorrow and we took her glucose today by the dip sticks and she was between 250 + and 500+. I also started her on Merrick dog food since it is high protein and low on carbs. We are giving it to her 3 times a day to try to regulate her blood sugar. She also has hip and disk issues, and I got the pain med. I was going to give her some after her urine test. Also I was thinking that I would take her urine test again 1 hr. after eating to see if the food was helping her. Any help would be greatly appreciated and if you can please tell me what the values mean on the test strip bottle. On what we can do for Louie. She's a good ole gal but we can't afford and really do not want to put her through all that they told us need to be done for the insulin treatments. Sincerely Pam

Read more…Can I adjust dosage amount with Arthro-IonX?
Hello....my 14 year old rottie has been on Arthro-IonX for some time now and doing pretty darn well. Ive been told by my vet that they observed upon xrays arthritis in her back...and hind quarters. Jade has been on 1tsp (5ml) daily...and has done pretty good, but there are some days she seems more stiff and has a hard time getting up from a lying position. And, she is less likey to want to go for little walks. Even down the street. I wont ever force her...I watch her close and will only take her as far as I think she can handle...usually, once she gets going she wants to KEEP going...lol..but she dont understand that I can't carry her should she decide she can't go anymore and we're far from home. Ha Ha. She is about 90lbs. My question is, can I give her a higher dose maybe a couple times a week to help as she gets older? Or, as the weather gets colder? If so..how much could I give? Thank you for your time! -Michelle-
Read more…My dogs ears are smelly
Hi, we have a 10 year old female yellow lab and for pretty much all her life. She does not like us lifting her ear flap or basically doing anything with her ears. I know there is a lot of product out there to help clean them for dogs that let you touch their ears or put something in their ears, but can you suggest any product that she can take orally that will help with her ears. (Being a lab no problem giving her stuff orally!) I have switched her to a grain free food and the redness in her ears has cleared up, but they still smell and she shakes her head a lot. I read that we could put olive oil in her ear, but she just goes absolutely nuts when you do anything to her ears. Thanks for your help! I have been using Arthro-IonX for a few years now for her and it has helped her tremendously with her hind leg since she hurt it. We avoided having to go through the trauma and high expense of an operation on her just from using this miracle product! Thank you! -Diane-

Read more…Help, my dog bit me because he is in pain
Help, my dog bit me & now whenever I go near his left side he snaps at me and attempts to bite. Cannot pick him up to comfort him since that would require touching his lift side. He bit me on Saturday & Sunday. So I left him alone for a couple of days. Looked as if he was getting better. Now, he is just standing hunched over, with head & tail down, (will not lay or sit). I think he slept standing up last night because he was in the same position when I went to bed last night. He has been eating & drinking fairly regularly but it is obvious that he is in pain... and very antisocial, irritable. Doesn't even want to go for a walk. Promaxol seems to comfort him, for a while, but I am afraid that it just masks the problem. How do I know if it is something serious? What should I do? There are no natural vets, that I can find in the Youngstown, OH area. Joyfully in Jesus, -Rita-

My terrier mix dog, 12 lbs, 6 years old, recently started itching. She is a house dog, anal gland is clear, no signs of rash, dry skin, hair loss, cracking skin, redness, no apparent visual skin problems. I have tried different shampoos, but she continues licking around the buttocks not the anus or female organ. She does eat table food, just lean meats. This has just recently started in the last 6 weeks. Thanks Jim

Read more…Is Defendex Shampoo Causing My Dog Skin Problems?
I recently bought 3 bottles of Defendex shampoo for my 7 month old lab/shiba inu mix. I gave her a bath last night, and prior to that, I bathed her about 3 weeks ago. I also put K9 Advantix on her once a month on about the 1st. She's had a bald spot on her head now that hasn't gotten better - took her to our vet and got an ointment for it about a week ago, but she said bathing her would be fine. My question to you is, I bathed her last night with the Defendex shampoo for the first time and she started itching like crazy after her bath. She was also itching this morning. Did the shampoo irritate her skin? Did the K9 Advantix wash off? And if so, should we apply some more Advantix? What's the best remedy for her? -Chris-

Read more…Is Artrho-Ionx safe for a diabetic cat?
Hello, Dr. Char. My 18 year old, male feline is a diabetic of six years now. He has had a few rough patches when being forced to switch insulin's due to Vetsulin being banned from import by the FDA several years back now due to unknown insulin levels per unit. But he has been regulated on Pro-zinc for almost four years now. With diet we have gotten him to a half unit twice a day. I do not wish to do anything that will upset this balance. However, he also has obvious arthritis and joint discomfort. Several OTC remedies I've seen contain glucose or other potential substances that may effect his glucose and/or insulin levels. I am a nurse and know that in the hospitals we make reference to insulin as medication however since it is a naturally occurring substance produced in the body I'm not sure if your claim that Arthro-ionx will not interfere with any medication will cover this. Please, if you will, verify this claim and whether or not is it safe to administer this product without any change to my cat's insulin/glucose levels and that there is no risk to his current state of stability. Thank you in advance for you time. Sincerely, Dale
