Sinus infections--the sinus rinse remedy
Sinus infections are common for me. I am not exactly sure why, but it seems like I am very susceptible to contracting them. Most of the ones I got could not be cured with antibiotics because they were viral infections. As a home remedy I started rinsing out my sinuses. I did this using an off-brand version of the Neti Pot, where I mixed salt and warm water into a plastic pot. Then, I ran the water through my nose. I’ll admit, the first time I did this I was very nervous. I don’t like sticking things up my nose. Things aren’t supposed to be put go there! However, after the first rinse, it left me feeling refreshed. For about 10 minutes, I could breathe through my nose again! I use this even when I don’t have a sinus infection, but when my sinuses feel a little clogged. Has anyone else tried this remedy for viral sinus infections? Or what remedies have you tried?

According to the National Institute for Allergy and Infectious Diseases: "Cold symptoms can last from 2 to 14 days, but if you are like most people, you’ll probably recover in a week to 10 days. If your symptoms return often or last much longer than 2 weeks, you might have an allergy rather than a cold." How long do your colds normally last? Mine can last up to three weeks. So either my colds drag on longer than normal or I may want to check and see if I have allergies. And how do you treat your cold? I normally just get more sleep and drink lots of orange juice and hot tea.
