Cat falls 19 stories and survives!

By
From the The Scratchpad Blog Series

Hello and welcome to The Scratchpad. Here to bring you the most up-to-date news stories in the cat world. Our story this week should leave amazed and relieved. Remember the saying about cats always landing on their feet?

Well, this particular cat fell 19 stories and lived to tell about it!

Her name is sugar and she has a coat to match the name. This white coat is what caught spectators attention as she fell. Well, one spectator’s attention, a woman who lived on the second floor. According to her she saw a “white streak” that was falling from the sky.

Then she saw this little ball of fur bounce up from the ground and land directly on her feet! The person who saw Sugar called the lobby frantically to let them know what had just happened. Luckily, Sugar waltzed back into the apartment complex like that 19-story fall was nothing.

Wish I could do jump that many stories and be okay ;)

A veterinarian named Kirk examined Sugar after the fall and found no broken bones or cuts! She just had some bruising on her lungs. Kirk revealed the reason behind her survival  - her ability to act like a flying squirrel. She spread her legs out and embraced the fall instead of scrambling to avoid it. Smart cat in my opinion!

Her owner had this to say about the whole ordeal, "I'm just so thankful. When I came home from work today and I saw her, I was just very thankful. It's a miracle.”

Do you believe cats will ALWAYS land on their feet?
Yes or No?
